Mobile Wind-Solar-Diesel Microgrid Case Study

As the energy structure continues to optimize, renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are increasingly being applied in power systems and account for an ever-growing share of energy consumption. However, renewable energy sources have characteristics such as randomness, volatility, and intermittent nature across multiple time scales, which impose certain constraints on their utilization and integration. In June 2023, Yun Tian Shu Neng’s energy storage products were successfully applied in collaboration with a Shandong-based client to a mobile microgrid system in Huatuogou Town, Mangya City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, effectively addressing the challenges of utilizing and integrating wind and solar power.|

The entire microgrid system includes: wind power generation system; photovoltaic power generation system; energy storage system; diesel generator; microgrid management system; among which the customer’s 60kW/115kWh energy storage integrated cabinet is equipped with YunTian ShuNeng’s commercial and industrial energy storage PCS modules, STS modules, EMS, and other devices, primarily serving to ensure the coordinated operation of various energy sources across different seasons and time periods, achieving multi-energy complementarity. Yuntian Shuneng’s energy storage PCS module adopts a three-level topology structure, achieving a maximum conversion efficiency of 99%. It supports functions such as UPS, DVR, SVG, and high/low voltage ride-through, ensuring stable operation under weak grid conditions. This guarantees efficient and stable operation of multiple energy sources while mitigating power fluctuations caused by the intermittent output of wind and photovoltaic power. Additionally, the STS grid-connected/off-grid switching module ensures seamless power supply switching without interruption when wind and solar power generation is insufficient and diesel generators are activated, safeguarding the safe operation of critical electrical equipment such as computers.This ensures uninterrupted power supply for on-site residents 24 hours a day.
