Competition in the energy storage industry has heated up in recent years. The trend of market consolidation is also getting clearer.
For companies to survive, grow, and thrive in this competition, accurate business positioning is key.
Clear positioning does more than keep companies focused. It helps them find breakthrough strategies,
build on their strengths, and create competitive brands. It also boosts their skills in product development, talent management, and operations.
Shenzhen Yuntian Digital Energy Co., Ltd. (called YUNTpower for short) is a good example. It launched right before the energy storage market turned “involuted.”
Tens of thousands of new players rushed into system integration. But YUNTpower took a different path. It focused on power conversion modules for commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage. It also offers solutions centered on PCS (Power Conversion System) and EMS (Energy Management System).
Thanks to strong R&D and technical skills, YUNTpower kept rolling out unique products. Now, it’s a top supplier of C&I energy storage PCS.

ToggleFocus on C&I Energy Storage: Electrical Products & Solutions
YUNTpower started in April 2022. It’s a high-tech firm that combines R&D, production, sales, and service.
Back then, China’s energy storage market was growing fast. Entering it required sharp market judgment and clear strategy.
“When we talk about our core goal, we focus on making great electrical products—not system integration,” said Yi Xiaoguang, YUNTpower’s General Manager. He spoke with determination about the company’s early positioning.
“We want to cover every part of the C&I energy storage electrical business.
We provide products and solutions for this field and serve system integrators well.”
We provide products and solutions for this field and serve system integrators well.”
YUNTpower’s positioning proved right. 2023 was a brutal year for energy storage. System integration became the most competitive track.
Raw material prices dropped. Companies fought unfairly. Technologies looked the same. All these pushed energy storage system prices down.
Many firms that jumped into integration struggled. Some even closed.
YUNTpower’s focus on C&I energy storage electrical business came from knowing its strengths. It also showed great confidence in its abilities.
Beyond smart market focus, YUNTpower has strong R&D:
- 56% of its staff work in R&D.
- The core team has over 15 years of experience in new energy power electronics.
- Over 90% of the team have master’s degrees. They can develop small, medium, and large-power products.
Based on its positioning, YUNTpower uses power electronics as its core. It builds on energy storage power conversion.
It focuses on high-end C&I energy storage. It offers efficient, safe products and solutions like:
- Full-scenario C&I energy storage PCS modules, DC/DC/MPPT modules, and STS modules.
- Residential energy storage inverters and grid-side energy storage inverters.
YUNTpower also provides PCS and EMS-centered solutions. These meet different customer needs. It offers professional solutions and custom services to clients worldwide.
Core Technologies: Grid-, Load-, and Environment-Friendly PCS
YUNTpower works hard to make PCS that work well with grids, loads, and the environment. Its core technologies include:
- Multi-unit parallel tech: Supports 8 DC units and 32 AC units working together.
- High and low voltage ride-through tech: Keeps PCS stable during voltage changes.
- Grid-forming (GFM) tech: Helps PCS support grid stability.
- Unbalanced load control tech: Handles uneven power demands.
- Fast grid connection/off-grid tech: Switches modes quickly.

Product Matrix: For All C&I Energy Storage Needs
YUNTpower has a full set of products:
- Mars Series: Air-cooled C&I energy storage converters. Covers 50~135kW PCS. Works for air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and other scenarios.
- Mercury Series: Bidirectional DC/DC/MPPT modules.
- STS and EMS modules.
- Neptune Series: Energy routers.
- Arcturus Series: Residential PV-storage inverters.
Differentiated Innovation: A Strong Market Base
Today, energy storage faces a big problem—homogeneity. This is true for both battery cells and system integration.
“Involution” has made differentiation a must. It’s how companies break through and stay in the market.
By innovating tech and making unique products, companies can keep competitors out. They lower risks, grab market share fast, and maximize profits.
YUNTpower sees differentiation as key to getting through industry changes.
“We make products for different scenarios at home and abroad,” Yi Xiaoguang said. “For example, we support China’s grids with grid-forming tech.
For overseas markets, we make off-grid emergency power supplies. We do this through better algorithms and system design.”
In just over a year, YUNTpower used innovative power conversion to launch products for C&I energy storage.
These products meet strict market demands: larger capacity, lower LCOE (levelized cost of energy), high safety, and long life.
Star Product: Mars-125KT Series PCS
YUNTpower’s top products are its new 125kW liquid-cooled and air-cooled PCS modules. They include the Mars-125KT-L (liquid-cooled) and Mars-125KT (air-cooled).
Their advantages:
- Power range: 100~125kW. Works with 280Ah~314Ah battery cells (liquid-cooled or air-cooled systems).
- Power density: 40% higher for liquid-cooled modules and 30% higher for air-cooled ones (vs. competitors).
- DC voltage: Covers 580V~1000V. Runs at full power at 1000V with no loss. This lets integrators use more battery strings and cut LCOE.
- Parallel expansion: Uses YUNTpower’s unique tech. Works for more scenarios.
YUNTpower’s 125kW PCS series is the most complete in the industry. It includes front-wired, rear-wired, air-cooled, and liquid-cooled options.
Mass production started in September 2023. Its shipment volume leads the industry.
Yi Xiaoguang also shared that the Mars-125KT series has key certifications:
- GB/T 34120 certification and test report.
- Third-party high/low voltage ride-through test report.
- TUV certification (CE safety and EMC) for overseas markets.
- EU EN 50549 grid certification (covers many European countries).
New Product Launch: June 2024
In June this year, YUNTpower launched new products. These are 125kW liquid-cooled and air-cooled PCS modules with AC/DC PDU (power distribution units).
It also showed its C&I PCS series, residential storage products, and energy router cabinets at a Shanghai exhibition.
The new integrated PCS modules (with PDU) have big benefits:
- Smaller size and higher power density.
- Fewer extra parts, so lower TCO (total cost of ownership).
- Fits better with C&I energy storage system integration.
These new products focus on two key values: cutting C&I energy storage costs and making system design easier.
They show YUNTpower’s ability to quickly update and innovate C&I energy storage modules.
Other Key Products
- Neptune Series Microgrid Energy Router: Focuses on “PV + storage + diesel + grid” solutions. Uses modular design to build microgrid systems. Helps partners design and launch microgrid projects fast.
- Smart Home Solution: Made for zero-carbon home electricity. Covers 6-12kW residential needs. Uses industry-leading SiC (silicon carbide) PV-storage hybrid inverters. Keeps homes powered with clean energy.
Market Performance & Outlook
With strong tech and great products, YUNTpower has grown in both domestic and overseas markets.
For a new company, steady revenue growth is not easy today. This shows YUNTpower’s smart strategy and strong abilities.
In the tough C&I energy storage track, YUNTpower’s story is just getting started.
