YUNT’s“) a suite of Spanish grid-connection certifications. These include UNE 217001:2020-10, UNE 217002:2020, and NTS V2.1 Type A, B, C & D certifications, all for its energy storage grid-connected inverters.

Why Spanish Certifications Matter: Europe’s Renewable Energy Market
Europe is a high-priority market for renewable energy, boasting a mature photovoltaic sector, rapid growth, large market scale, and strict industry standards.
NTS V2.1—the latest grid code co-issued by Spain’s REE and AELEC—is among the world’s most rigorous. It sets strict requirements for generator grid connections, covering:
- Frequency and voltage control
- Fault ride-through capabilities
- Testing procedures for inverters and auxiliary components (e.g., factory control systems, or CAMGE)
- Validation of equipment functionality and quality for grid integration
Under NTS V2.1, Spanish power stations are classified into 4 types (A-D) based on grid voltage and capacity:
- Type D (the most demanding): Requires ≥110KV grid-connected voltage and >50MW capacity, with tests for high/low voltage ride-through, frequency ride-through, and under-frequency power boost. Inverters passing Type D tests are compatible with all application scenarios.
- Additional rigor: Inverters must operate reliably in harsh environments (saline-alkali areas, metal-dust zones, extreme temperatures) to suit tropical and cold climates.
